1.PRELIMINARY RESEARCH OF MUJI
Background
MUJI was founded in 1980, a global Japanese retail company selling a wide variety of household consumer items, furniture, clothing, and food products.
Consumers
MUJI’s no-brand strategy appeals to a unique group of consumers in the market who are tired of consumerism and prefer a refreshing alternative to traditional branded products.
Brand
MUJI known as “no brand” with philosophy of functional, quality design with a Japanese minimalistic aesthetic.
Opportunity
During my research, I visited local MUJI retail stores in Toronto, and I found that many MUJI emphasize on recycling and its avoidance of waste in production and packaging. This concept not only contributes to the protection of the environment, but also attracts more consumers, because users are also pursuing new design patterns.
Residents
Residents can take advantage of the nearby waterfront trail that is used by walkers, joggers, cyclists and near from Toronto’s Entertainment District. Most residents here are young group from age 15-45.
Construction style
Liberty Village are top modern communities in Toronto contains unique furniture and design stores, as well as art galleries, hip coffee shops and urban fusion restaurants. Particularly the Hard lofts in restored industrial buildings feature soaring ceilings, huge windows and exposed brick.
Location
It is bordered to the north by King Street West, to the west by Dufferin Street, to the south by the Gardiner Expressway, to the east by Strachan Avenue, and to the northeast by the CP railway tracks.
Opportunity
Many locals prefer living here because they love the architectural style, which are modern, very simple, as well as the various entertainment facilities such as cafe, art galleries, etc to meet the recreational needs of modern people.

4.DEVELOPMENT OF INITIAL IDEA
Development 1: Cut off one side all through and make the angle of the cutting side and the other side to be 90 degrees, so that cutting sides can be used as Shaft connection, achieving the purpose of rotation
Development 2: Could create an opening through the edges so that the tissue tube can be fit-in successfully, as well as have easy access to switch the tissue.
