INTRODUCTION

 

Exquisite printed fonts has been applied widely within Reading apps; Handwritten fonts are facing the challenge that people are gradually losing or paying less attention to the importance of handwriting. Printed fonts have already occupied a large part of books; While the first book is created by hand we are committed to reviving the importance of handwriting.

 

RESEARCH

 

By interviewing existing users of reading apps as well as the secondary research, most of them are office workers or students, 80% of the interviewed users think that reading apps will cause visual fatigue because they look at the same font for a long time, 40% of the interviewed users have the idea of excerpting literature when they read the text they like. 18% interviewed users prefer reading physical book rather using reading app because E-books have a lot of interference

 
 

KEY INSIGHTS

 

So we decided to change the existing exquisite printed font into rough, handwritten, irregular fonts, bringing an immersive reading experience as the key concept: for example, when reading a children's book, the font could be a child's crooked, rounded, one-stroke fonts. as well as developing your own hand script style

HI book aims to revive the charm of handwriting, create a fun and immersive reading experience, as well as developing your own hand script style.

  • simplify the page layout to make the main function pop up

  • the transformation form printed font to handwritten font should add fluency

  • Page of personal profile need to refined because each function currently are interrupting each other visually
